Google maps have become an indispensable part of how I get around, and to be fair Mapquest (Yahoo!) has some features that make it more desirable from time to time. Sometimes I find that the directions, while practical, are not that useful.
Follow these steps [in order of course]
1. Go to http://maps.google.com/
2. Click on "get directions"
3. Go from "new york" to "paris, france"
4. Scroll down in the directions to number 23
5. Laugh
Thanks to my friend Brenda's friend Claudia for passing this on to her, who in turn passed it on to me.

that's hilarious!
maybe for the long swim over you could get a cool flotation device (for when you're tired)...maybe something like a spiderman wetsuit/life jacket combo...
just to make sure everyone knows - I meant to write "Yahoo! Maps" separately from Mapquest. I did not mean to imply that Yahoo! was responsible for Mapquest. - sorry Steve.
That's really funny!
Estimated time to get there is 29 days, 7 hours.. which means I have to swim how fast?
swimming 5 miles an hour for 696 hours would cover about 3800 miles. No stopping for lunch you know.
What? You mean everyone DOESN'T "cross the Pond" by swimming? I actually asked Mapquest to get me from JFK airport to Paris. The directions had me driving to near CC ape Cod before beginning to swim. I guess they were trying to go easy on an old lady. The part I thought funniest was the sharp right turn at a certain buoy marker to avoid bumping into Nantuckett.
Mom
Okay, so now you also realize that Brian's mom can't type & spell at the same time.
Brilliant. Fortunately, I've been working out up to a couple of times a week for nearly three weeks now. Another week or so of training, coupled with my already-super-human-abilities and I'd probably be up to the task.
